Monster Hunter Stories gets Japan release date, new Amiibos

Monster Hunter Stories, the RPG spin-off for Capcom’s phenomenally successful series, has got a release date in Japan – and a new range of Amiibos set to accompany the 3DS game.

Monster Hunter Stories will be launching on October 8th in Japan, with three new Amiibos arriving alongside it. There’s a Rathalos available in two flavours, and ‘Nabiru’, a chubby little Palico. (Thanks for the spot, ).

We’re yet to get confirmation that Stories will release in the west – though it’s not long now until we get Monster Hunter Generations, which is due out in the UK on July 15th.

One of Japan’s most terrifying 3DS games is being localised for the UK

Kumatomo, a curious Nintendogs-esque game from Bandai Namco that came out on Nintendo’s 3DS a couple of years back, is being localised for the UK this summer.

Rebranded as Teddy Together, it sees a bear moving into the player’s house brandishing a mysterious key. Over time and through interacting with the bear – talking to it, feeding it and clearing up after its mess – you’ll eventually learn its true purpose. Maybe the final thing’s not quite as sinister as it is in my head, but the Japanese trailer from 2013 (discovered ) isn’t exactly reassuring.

Teddy Together is out in the UK on July 1st, and features Amiibo support for compatible figures. Be afraid.

Today, Rocket League becomes the first Xbox One/PC cross-platform game

Rocket League’s Xbox One and PC editions will link up later today as cross-platform play is enabled.

An update will unlock the feature at 11pm UK time tonight. Cross-platform matching in multiplayer games can then be toggled on or off depending on your own personal preference.

The long-promised move makes footballing car success Rocket League the first game to offer cross-platform play between PC and Xbox One.

New chart entrants Homefront: The Revolution and Fire Emblem Birthright/Conquest have failed to topple Uncharted 4 and Doom from the top two slots of the UK chart.
