Watch: Johnny makes the sinner’s sandwich from Deadly Premonition

The nice thing about filming a different video game recipe each week is that we’re never short of suggestions from our viewers. Having made eight different video game dishes now you’d think we’d be running out of ideas, but the recipes just keep coming in (I promise I’ll cook something from Skyrim eventually).

The downside of all this, of course, is that sometimes a suggestion comes in that’s too good to ignore but also sounds disgusting. This week’s episode is a perfect example, as it fell to me to make the sinner’s sandwich from Deadly Premonition.

In case you need reminding, the sinner’s sandwich is a heady mix of turkey, strawberry jam and cereal. While it’s hardly Michelin star cuisine, it is at least easy to put together. You can see how I got on in the video below.

Watch: We made etoile blanche from The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine

It’s a new year, which means lots of people are turning to diet and exercise to help shed the weight gained over the festive period. Not me apparently; today I fried some turkey in oil and then added a whole bunch of ricotta cheese to the mix.

Which is to say, in case you hadn’t guessed already, that I’ve recreated another video game recipe in a small, rubbish kitchen. This week’s edition comes direct from The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine – it’s Ra’mses Gor-Thon’s recipe for “etoile blanche” pasta. You can see how I got on in the video below and, should you fancy trying it out for yourself, you can find the (slightly abusive) recipe pulled straight from the game below that.

Jelly Deals roundup: Doom, Watch Dogs 2, Stephen’s Sausage Roll and more

A note from the editor: Jelly Deals is a new deals site launched by our parent company, Gamer Network, with a mission to find the best bargains out there. (It also has the best name.) We’ve invited the Jelly Deals team to share a weekly roundup of (mostly) gaming-related bargains with us, so we can pass their tips on to you. Full disclosure: if you make a purchase from one of these links, we will receive a small commission from the retailer. Hopefully you’ll find it useful!

Christmas is approaching fast and it’ll soon be time to gorge horribly on turkey, alcohol and chocolate without feeling the guilt that usually comes after. What better time to kick back with a copy of the Radio Times by your side, figure out what movies you’ll be watching to ring in the season and catch up on a whole bunch of games you’ve been struggling to find the time to play. For me, I’ll be trying to finish Dead Rising 4 (’tis the season) before moving onto The Last Guardian. I’ve been waiting about a decade for that game, what’s a couple extra weeks?

Anyways, there’s a whole new batch of deals to check out this week, from the world of games and tech and all that sort of jazz. Come have a look at what’s been out there and maybe save some cash if something catches your eye.

Free Overcooked Festive Seasoning DLC packs flamethrower

How do you cook a Turkey? That’s right, with a flamethrower. You have your reindeer pop the turkey on a conveyer belt and then your snowman torches it. Christmas Overcooked content is on its way!

Festive Seasoning DLC will be served 6th December on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. And best of all, it’s free.

Festive Seasoning adds eight co-op levels in a Winter Lodge theme; two chefs, snowman and reindeer; two recipes, turkey dinner and stew; a flamethrower; Santa hats; and a wintery map and snowmobile to traverse it on.

Watch: Let’s play Owlboy

Owlboy is a real treat to play. The presentation is gorgeous and the story manages to be by turns witty, touching and heartbreaking. Of course, hopefully you knew it wasn’t a turkey from published earlier this week.

To show off this fine feathered game, I recorded two Let’s Plays; the first of which covers the opening section. You might have seen this bit of Owlboy before if you happened to play the demo.

The second video starts right where the last left off, leaving the area covered in the demo behind and heading for the mysterious Owl Temple.
