Starbucks may have just spoiled a big Pokémon Go update

Will Pokémon Go get a bunch of new Pokémon to catch this week? An upcoming Starbucks event appears to suggest so.

Leaked promotional material hints that Pokémon Gold and Silver’s quota of 100 critters will join the game this Friday.

Starbucks coffee shops will be added to the game as gym or PokéStop locations in an update this Thursday, 8th December, the marketing material has revealed.

Pokémon Go’s Nearby feature live now in the UK

After months in testing, Pokémon Go’s Nearby feature is live right now in the UK.

The tool offers an improved method of tracking close-by creatures by showing which Pokéstop they are closest to. Head to the PokéStop shown next to each critter and you’ll find it lurking somewhere within its radius.

We’ve been waiting a long time for Nearby to land here in Blighty, although the feature has only started to rapidly roll-out in the past coming weeks.

Pokémon Go Plus device launches next week

Nintendo launches its long-awaited Pokémon Go Plus device on Friday 16th September. That’s next week!

The Plus device is a little clip-on Bluetooth accessory that vibrates when a PokéStop or Pokémon is nearby. You can even catch Pokémon with a simple button press.

Pokémon Go Plus is designed to let you play the game without being tied to your phone screen, although there’s no knowing if the Plus – like the app – will also be a drain on your phone battery.

Pokémon Go announced for Apple Watch

Pokémon Go has been announced for Apple Watch.

The shrunk-down version of the app will notify you when are near a Pokémon or Poké Stop, and keep track of eggs you have hatching as you walk.

Pokémon Go for Apple Watch also keeps track of your activity stats such as your steps. Handy!
