Johnny and Ian had a fight about Switch – in video form

Ever since its announcement, the Nintendo Switch has been a divisive console. Preorder numbers are looking fairly healthy across the board for the portable hardware, and yet scores of people are playing soothsayer and declaring the Switch will be the death of Nintendo. The argument has even reached the Eurogamer video team, as Ian Higton and I butted heads over the Switch in these two videos.

Since I pride myself on being the sporting type, I’ll let my opponent go first. In this video you’ll find four reasons why Ian decided against preordering the Nintendo Switch.

Right, my turn. Maybe it’s because I was raised playing Nintendo games, but I think there’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to the Nintendo Switch. Allow me to convince you.

Watch: Ian plays Conan Exiles live from 3.30pm

Conan Exiles has launched on Steam early access. Pretty much instantaneously, players discovered that the character customisation screen features an endowment slider, allowing you choose the size of your character’s breasts and / or penis. To top things off, you also start the game undergoing a gentle bit of crucifixion.

With a game letting you choose the size of your todger newly released, it seemed cruel not to let Ian Higton get hands on – no pun intended. Ian will be diving into Conan Exiles from 3.30 today until 5pm – or until he runs out of nob gags, whichever happens first.

You can tune in via the video player above as soon as the stream starts – failing that, you can keep refreshing our instead. Feel free to share your best willy puns in the comments while you wait. I’ll start – um, Conan the.. Boner..barian? Surely you can do better.

Watch: Johnny and Ian play Killing Floor 2, bicker endlessly

If my years of watching schlocky horror films have taught me anything, it’s that surviving a zombie apocalypse requires determination, good aim and, above all else, teamwork. With those things in mind, it really shouldn’t have come as a surprise that my first foray into Killing Floor 2 with Ian Higton ended in disaster.

To its credit, Killing Floor 2 is a fun (albeit slightly incoherent) team-based shooter; it’s just that Ian and I struggle to cooperate at the best of times, let alone when facing waves of naked zombies.

Click the video above for gross monsters, stunningly bad teamwork and a rifle-wielding reverend in a mortar board. Obviously.

Watch: 90 minutes of Battlefield 1 live from 3.30pm BST

Happy Battlefield 1 launch day! Wait, what do you mean it was earlier this week? Hang on, what do you mean people have been playing it since last week? Oh video games, you are so silly with your early unlocks and special editions and getting people to pay £20 to play a few days early. Back in my day all you had to do was ask the man at the shop nicely and he’d slip you a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 a few days before release.

That was then, though, and this is now. At 3.30pm myself, Ian Higton and Johnny Chiodini will be teaming up for 90 minutes of Battlefield 1 multiplayer LIVE.

I’ll be talking a bit , where basically I said it’s the same old Battlefield in fancy dress and that’s no bad thing. Hope to see you here in a bit!

Watch how Modern Warfare Remastered’s campaign stacks up to the original

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is out today for those who have digitally pre-ordered the Legacy, Legacy Pro and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

To see how this remaster stacks up to Infinity Ward’s seminal 2007 shooter, our Ian Higton made the following comparison video looking at how this restoration improves the game for more contemporary sensibilities.

The comparison video is using the Xbox 360 version of the original Modern Warfare and the PS4 version of its remaster.

Watch: Ian plays Fallout 4 Nuka World live

Fallout 4’s final DLC – Nuka World – launches today, which is a bittersweet moment for Fallout fanatics like Ian Higton. Nuka World seems like a fairly substantial expansion, offering up a new area for players to explore, but there’s undoubtedly sadness in the fact there’ll be no more official DLC for Fallout 4 in the future.

In order to cheer himself up a bit, Ian’s going to stream Nuka World live on YouTube from 3pm today. If you fancy dropping in and giving him some moral support, all you need do is click the video above and wait for things to kick off. Make sure to ask him to impersonate Nuka World’s two mascots, too – he’s surprisingly good at it.

Watch: Six terrible games from awesome developers

Some developers, quite deservedly, can boast of excellent reputations for game development. With Overwatch, Hearthstone and World of Warcraft being as hugely popular as they are, for example, it’s hard to imagine Blizzard ever having turned out a duff game.

Well, not so fast. Turns out even the most venerated developers have one or two skeletons in the wardrobe, as Ian Higton and Digital Foundry’s John Linneman set out to prove. Watch the video below for some truly awful games from otherwise tremendous developers.

Watch: Take a tour of Nintendo’s E3 booth with Chris and Ian

I’m telling you, you can’t take Chris Bratt and Ian Higton anywhere. There they are, at the biggest gaming event in the calendar, on one of the biggest first party booths, and what do they do? Sit on the scenery – no, wait, EAT the scenery – and stalk high-ranking executives through crowds patiently waiting their turn to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Well, Chris does all that. Ian, by his own admission, just eggs him on from behind the camera.

Experience the thrilling, vicarious awkwardness of watching Reggie Fils-Aimé pose for selfies and see living proof behind the old saying, “a watched pot never boils,” in the video below. Also, it’s a Moblin for god’s sake, Chris, stop embarrassing me.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 release date moved to 2017

CI Games has moved the Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 worldwide release date to 27th January 2017. It’s due on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The statement was made by CI Games for the Warsaw Stock Exchange but was spotted by and then relayed to me.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 had been due this year. This game will be the biggest and most expensive in the popular series so far. There’s a new parkour system this time, there are vehicles, and there are War Crimes side missions, gruesomely. Ian Higton went to see the game last autumn and made a video about it that’s below.

How to get started with Fallout 4 mods on Xbox One

Fallout 4 gets mods for Xbox One today. It’s a feature that’s been in the works for some time, but for console users mods may be a daunting prospect. How do they work? How do you download them? What mods are available? Will they mess up my save files?

Eurogamer video chief Ian Higton has put together a video primer for all things Fallout 4 mods on Xbox One, running through how to access, download and use them (warning: you need to set up a Bethesda.net user account). I thought it pretty useful as someone who fancies giving Catmeat a shot.
