Candy Crush live-action game show coming to the US

There’s going to be a live-action game show based on Candy Crush Saga, coming to the US.

CBS, Lionsgate and Candy Crush developer King have joined forces on this entry into the exciting world of broadcast television.

The show will be produced my Matt Kunitz, who previously produced Fear Factor and Dancing with the Stars. Could Candy Crush be the next big TV sensation?

Pokémon Go earns eight times what Candy Crush Saga did in its first month

Pokémon Go has shattered the record for highest earning mobile game launch month by a country mile.

As reported by analytics firm , Niantic’s augmented reality phenomenon set a new world record after grossing over $200m in worldwide net revenue in its first month (and a day).

Comparatively, the previous record-holder, Clash Royale, made about $120m in the same time frame. Behind that is Candy Crush Saga with about $25m.

Pokémon Go is the most popular mobile game in US history

Having , Pokémon Go is already the biggest mobile game in US history based on its daily active users.

According to analysis site , Pokémon Go had just under 21m daily active users as of yesterday. The record prior to that was Candy Crush Saga’s 20m.

It’s worth noting that at one point Candy Crush Saga has 93m daily active users, but that was across all countries. For a more fair comparison, SurveyMonkey just compared the US figures.

Fruit Ninja is being made into a live-action film

If you thought the (I’m sorry, Tetris trilogy) was a stretch, well here’s another one for you. Fruit Ninja, the mobile hit about slicing fruit by swiping on a touch screen, is likewise getting the silver screen treatment.
